Washington (USA), 21 August (LaPresse/AP) – The Trump administration says it is reviewing all of the more than 55 million people with US visas for potential violations that could lead to deportation. The State Department said that visas allowing people to remain in the United States are revoked at any time if there are ‘indicators of overstaying, criminal activity, threats to public safety, involvement in any form of terrorist activity or providing support to a terrorist organisation.’ In a written response to a question from the Associated Press, the Department said that all US visa holders are subject to ‘ongoing screening’ with a focus on any indications that they may not be eligible for the document. If such information is found, the visa will be revoked and, if the visa holder is in the United States, they will be subject to deportation.
