Frankfurt (Germany), Aug 28 (LaPresse) – In light of Russia’s aggressive actions in the Baltic Sea region, German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul intends to deepen security cooperation with Estonia and Denmark. "The security of the Baltic states is also our security in Germany," Wadephul said during his inaugural visit to EU and NATO partners Estonia and Denmark. Security is a central topic in discussions with our Danish neighbors as well. The threat to this security is particularly felt in the Baltic Sea region, Wadephul stated. "It is there that the Russian shadow fleet is sowing chaos, where cables are cut, buoys moved, GPS signals disrupted: it is there that we are experiencing the full arsenal of Russian hybrid aggression." Estonia and the Baltic states had warned from the beginning about the reality of these dangers. "Today, within the EU and NATO, we benefit from their foresight and expertise: we want to further deepen this cooperation," the German minister added.
