Washington (USA), August 30 (LaPresse) – "All tariffs are still in effect! Today, a highly biased Court of Appeals wrongly ruled that our tariffs should be removed, but it knows that in the end the United States of America will win. If these tariffs were ever eliminated, it would be a total disaster for the country. It would make us financially weak, and we must be strong. The United States will no longer tolerate huge trade deficits and unfair customs duties and non-tariff trade barriers imposed by other countries, friends or foes, that undermine our manufacturers, farmers, and everyone else."
This is what Donald Trump said on Truth, commenting on the ruling of the Federal Court of Appeals that struck down the emergency powers invoked by the president to impose tariffs on the United States' trading partners.
"If left in place, this decision would literally destroy the United States of America. At the start of this Labor Day weekend, we should all remember that tariffs are the best tool to help our workers and support companies producing great 'Made in America' products. For many years, our insensitive and reckless politicians have allowed tariffs to be used against us. Now, with the help of the United States Supreme Court, we will use them for the benefit of our Nation and make America rich, strong, and powerful again!" concluded the US president.
