Milan, 1 September (LaPresse) – Chinese President Xi Jinping proposed the Global Governance Initiative (GGI) at the “Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Plus” meeting in Tianjin, China. ‘I look forward to working with all countries to create a more just and equitable global governance system and move towards a community with a shared future for humanity,’ Xi said in his speech at the meeting. This was reported by the Xinhua news agency, according to which the initiative will aim to uphold sovereign equality, respect the international rule of law, practise multilateralism, promote people-centredness and focus on action orientation.
