Macerata, Sept. 2 (LaPresse) – "If they are arrested in a foreign country, the Government cannot intervene. If they are arrested, they will be expelled and will receive the same treatment as those who carried out the same initiative a few months ago. We have followed the events, we supported them through our Consulate and our Embassy. The Government cannot interfere with arrests. It depends on which laws they violate, but generally, they are detained and then expelled from Israel, as has happened in the past. We have done everything possible to speed up the expulsion process," said Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, speaking to reporters in the evening on the sidelines of an event in Civitanova Marche (Macerata), in response to a question about the possible arrest of Italians on board the Global Sumud Flotilla heading to Gaza.
