Milan, Sept. 3 (LaPresse) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced a conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump to take place “today or tomorrow,” during which he hopes to discuss sanctions against Russia. Zelensky spoke from Denmark, where he met with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen and leaders from the Nordic and Baltic countries. He is expected in Paris this evening for a meeting with Emmanuel Macron ahead of tomorrow’s “coalition of the willing” summit.

The meeting in Copenhagen included Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, and Sweden—countries that have been among Kyiv’s most loyal supporters since the start of the war. “We said that U.S. pressure could force Putin to move toward a diplomatic format,” Zelensky said alongside Frederiksen. “We conveyed these messages to the U.S. president, who said a few weeks ago that he would respond, possibly within two or three weeks. We will speak with the U.S. president today or tomorrow and clarify the matter,” he added, as reported by Ukrainian media.
