Rome, 11 September (LaPresse) – Thanks to the vote of Judge Cármen Lúcia, a majority has been reached in the Brazilian Supreme Court to convict former President Jair Bolsonaro and seven of his allies for attempted coup, organised crime, violent abolition of the rule of law, aggravated damage and deterioration of historical heritage. This was reported by O'Globo. With Cármen's vote, the first section of the Court reached a 3-1 majority in favour of conviction. Judges Alexandre de Moraes and Flávio Dino voted with Cármen, while Luiz Fux voted in favour of acquittal. This is the first time in Brazil's history that a former president has been convicted of attempted coup d'état.
