Turin, 12 September (LaPresse) – Prince Harry made a surprise visit to Kiev at the invitation of the Ukrainian government, saying he wanted to do “everything possible” to help the recovery of thousands of soldiers seriously wounded in the war against Russia. This was reported by The Guardian. During their trip to the Ukrainian capital, the Duke of Sussex and a delegation from his Invictus Games Foundation will outline new initiatives to support the rehabilitation of the wounded, with the ultimate goal of providing help to all areas of the country. Speaking to The Guardian on a night train to the capital, Harry said: ‘We can't stop the war, but what we can do is do everything we can to help the recovery process. ’We can continue to humanise the people involved in this war and what they are going through. We must keep this in people's minds. I hope this trip will help people understand, because it's easy to lose sensitivity to what's happening," he added. Harry said he was initially invited to Kiev by Olga Rudnieva, founder and CEO of the Superhumans Trauma Centre in Lviv, Ukraine, which treats wounded amputees.
