Rome, Sept. 16 (LaPresse) – The Israeli armed forces have launched their ground offensive to take Gaza City. The IDF states that around 300,000 Palestinians have fled Gaza City in recent weeks, after its population had grown to about one million displaced people earlier this year. The army has urged all residents of Gaza City to evacuate. The Palestinian news agency Wafa reports that 62 people were killed following Israeli air raids overnight on the Gaza Strip, particularly in Gaza City. Several residential buildings were destroyed during the raids, including the 20-story Al-Ghafri tower, which housed hundreds of families.
