Sehnde, Germany, 17 September (LaPresse/AP) — The German citizen investigated for the disappearance of British child Madeleine McCann 18 years ago was released today after serving his sentence in an unrelated case, police said. The man, identified by media outlets as Christian Brückner, was serving a seven-year sentence stemming from his 2019 conviction for the rape of a 72-year-old American woman in Portugal. He left Sehnde Prison, near Hanover in northern Germany, this morning.
