Madrid (Spain), 25 September (LaPresse) – Activists from the Global Sumud Flotilla have called an emergency global press conference to ‘alert the international community to reliable intelligence reports indicating that Israel is likely to intensify its violent attacks against the mission in the next 48 hours, potentially using weapons that could sink the ships, injure or kill participants’. Spokespersons will inform journalists of these threats, present the latest updates on the situation of the fleet at sea, and launch urgent appeals to governments and international agencies to intervene and ensure the safe passage of the fleet as it works to break Israel's illegal blockade of Gaza, the Flotilla said in a statement. The press conference is scheduled for 3 p.m. Italian time.
