It has deliberately rejected all proposed solutions: the Italian proposal to deliver aid to Cyprus and entrust it to the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem? Rejected. The Israeli invitation to dock in Ashkelon for the coordinated transfer of aid? Rejected. This systematic refusal shows that the goal is not humanitarian, but provocative. They are not seeking to help, they are seeking an incident." This was stated by the Israeli ambassador to Rome, Jonathan Peled, on X. "The Flotilla takes full and total responsibility for this situation and its consequences. Israel remains in contact with the relevant Italian authorities to support them in ensuring the conditions for the people on board," he added.
