Milan, Oct 2 (LaPresse) – The activists of the Global Sumud Flotilla aboard the vessels intercepted by Israel “are being brought safely and peacefully to Israel, where expulsion procedures toward Europe will begin,” the Israeli Foreign Ministry writes on X, adding that “the passengers are safe and in good health.” The ships carrying detained Italian citizens are expected to reach the Israeli port of Ashdod this afternoon, once Yom Kippur ends. According to informed sources, upon disembarkation, flotilla members will be identified, detained, and from tomorrow, Friday, the first repatriations may begin. Those willing to leave Israel voluntarily will be the first to be repatriated. Over 16 Israeli Navy ships have been deployed in the flotilla blockade operation.
