Turin, 10 October (LaPresse) – José Jeri was sworn in as president of Peru this morning, following the removal of Dina Boluarte. Jeri had been serving as president of Congress since last July and, according to the line of succession established by the Constitution, will assume interim leadership of the country. ‘Today, I humbly accept the task of establishing and leading a broad-based government of transition and national reconciliation. We must build minimum agreements together,’ Jeri said, as reported by the local press.
