Frankfurt (Germany), 29 October (LaPresse) – The Berlin Public Prosecutor's Office is investigating Mario O., known as the drag queen Jurassica Parka, a prominent figure in the capital's queer scene, on charges of possession, acquisition and distribution of child pornography. This was confirmed by a spokesperson for the prosecutor's office to the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. According to the authorities, the investigation began in the summer of 2025 following a report from the US National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). In July, Berlin police searched O.'s home and seized digital devices, which are still being analysed. Until the investigation is complete, the presumption of innocence applies. This is not the first court case for O.: in 2023, he was fined for “distributing child pornography”. In the same year, he appeared on comedian Jan Böhmermann's television programme “Böhmi brutzelt”, broadcast by ZDF, which subsequently removed the episode from its channels. Following the new allegations, several organisations in Berlin's queer scene have severed all ties with Jurassica Parka. The Bka-Theater has cancelled all scheduled performances; presenter Margot Schlönzke has suspended their joint podcast, and the SchwuZ cultural centre has announced an official statement. In a video posted on Instagram, Mario O. stated that he was temporarily withdrawing from public life, citing ‘proceedings for an alleged online offence’ and addiction and mental health issues. He also accused an acquaintance of spreading unfounded rumours, without mentioning the allegations of child pornography.
