Rome, 18 Nov. (LaPresse) – ‘It seems to me that we are moving in the right direction to move on to “phase 2” of peace in Gaza, namely transforming the ceasefire into a peace initiative’. This was stated by Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, speaking on the sidelines of the Italophone summit in Rome regarding the UN Security Council vote on the US plan for the Gaza Strip. ‘Italy will follow with great attention,’ he added, "we will participate, and we will see in what form, in the new situation, talking with our interlocutors, not only the United States. We also discussed this yesterday during the Supreme Defence Council meeting. “The stability of that area,” added the head of the Farnesina, “is fundamental. Peace must be built, and we will do everything possible to strengthen a situation of stability with the aim of achieving a two-people, two-state solution”.
