Rome, Dec. 9 (LaPresse) – Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov has dismissed as absurd the claims that Russia is “preparing” an attack on NATO. “It is total absurdity,” he said, reiterating the invitation to listen only to the official source, “our president Vladimir Putin.”
Putin “does not want to restore the USSR because it is impossible. He has repeated this several times. And talking about it shows a lack of respect for our partners, our CIS allies,” Peskov added, responding to comments made by German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, who had justified the increase in military spending by NATO countries, particularly Germany, with fears of a Soviet restoration and alleged “plans by Russia to attack one of the Alliance’s member states.”
