Milan, Dec. 12 (LaPresse) – This morning, the death of another newborn was reported in the Shati refugee camp in the Gaza Strip. The infant died from hypothermia. Yesterday, another newborn had died due to the cold temperatures in the al-Mawasi area, near Khan Younis. The death toll in Gaza from Storm Byron has now risen to at least 10, as the storm, in addition to freezing temperatures, is causing floods and the collapse of many buildings. According to the Palestinian news agency Wafa, five Palestinians died overnight when a house sheltering displaced people collapsed in the Bir an-Naaja area in the northern part of the Strip. At dawn, two more people died after a large wall collapsed onto tents housing displaced families in the Remal neighborhood in the western part of Gaza City. Yesterday, one person died due to the collapse of a wall in the Shati camp.
