Milan, Dec. 12 (LaPresse) – “Russian-Italian relations are going through their deepest crisis since World War II. Of course, we remember Italy's role in World War II, but we also remember and cherish the good times in our relations, which lasted 80 years—a long time—and we had excellent interactions with Italy.” This was stated by Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova during a webinar organized by the International Fact-Checking Network (GFCN). According to Zakharova, Italy has become the victim of a certain type of narrative: “It is under pressure from NATO, the Anglo-Saxon world, and this ultra-liberal dictatorship.” This was reported by the Tass agency. “Our relations are currently suspended, not only official ones, but also economic and financial ones,” Zakharova added, “I would like to believe that they have not been interrupted, but rather suspended. But not because of us, not because of Russia, but because Italy is under pressure.”
