Milan, 18 December (LaPresse) – The Estonian Foreign Ministry reported that three Russian border guards briefly crossed into Estonian territory and then returned to Russian territory. "Estonian police and border guards detected an illegal crossing of the temporary control line between Estonia and Russia on the bank of the Narva River by three border guards from the Russian Federation. Estonian border guard patrols responded to the border incident. Shortly afterwards, the Russian border guards returned to Russian territory,‘ the Tallinn Foreign Ministry said in a post on X referring to yesterday's events. In the post, Tallinn explains that it ’will seek explanations during a meeting of border representatives," but the Estonian press reports that the meeting, which was to be held today, has been postponed by the Russian side. ‘The Estonian Foreign Ministry will summon the chargé d'affaires of the Russian Embassy in Estonia,’ it adds. Bild cites an open-source source, GeoInsider, according to which the Russians remained on Estonian territory for 20 minutes before turning back.
