Rome, 22 December (LaPresse) – ‘New Israeli rules on the registration of international non-governmental organisations (NGOs) risk leaving hundreds of thousands of people in Gaza without life-saving healthcare in 2026’. This was stated in a note by Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), explaining that ‘the new requirements risk revoking the registration of NGOs as of 1 January. This lack of registration would prevent organisations such as MSF from providing essential services to the population of Gaza and the West Bank’. For this reason, MSF ‘calls on the Israeli authorities to ensure that international NGOs can continue their impartial and independent response in Gaza. The humanitarian response, already limited, cannot be further dismantled.’
