Turin, 27 December (LaPresse) – US President Donald Trump has said he wants to oppose the independence of Somaliland, unlike Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. In an interview with the New York Post, the US leader answered ‘no’ when asked if he would recognise Somaliland. ‘We will evaluate. I study many things and always make excellent decisions, which turn out to be correct,’ he explained. ‘Does anyone know exactly what Somaliland is?’ Trump added. Israel became the first country to formally recognise the self-proclaimed Republic of Somaliland as a sovereign and independent state.
