Milan, Jan. 5 (LaPresse) – “Greenland and the Kingdom of Denmark must decide the future of Greenland, and only Greenland and the Kingdom of Denmark,” said British Prime Minister Keir Starmer in an interview with the BBC, after U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the United States “needs Greenland from a national security perspective.” The journalist asked Starmer: “The Danes are clearly telling President Trump ‘hands off Denmark.’ Would you say the same?” “Yes,” replied the UK Prime Minister. “Denmark is a close ally in Europe, a NATO ally, and it is very important that the future of Greenland belongs to the Kingdom of Denmark and Greenland itself, and only to Greenland and the Kingdom of Denmark,” Starmer added.
