The Hague (Netherlands), 7 Jan. (LaPresse/AP) – In Paris, a skier slipped along the snow-capped banks of the Seine, while the streets and parks around the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre Museum were blanketed in snow. France's national weather service, Meteo France, said much of northern and western France, including the Paris region, was on alert for snow and ice. French authorities have advised people to work from home and avoid using their cars in the most affected regions. Trucks and school buses have been banned from transit. Bus traffic was suspended in Paris this morning. French railway company SNCF warned passengers of possible disruptions and delays due to weather conditions, saying that “snow on the tracks forces us to limit train speeds, cancel some or change traffic”. Eurostar trains between Paris, London and Brussels have also been delayed.
