Milan, Jan. 7 (LaPresse) – “US forces boarded the Marinera ship on the high seas, violating the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.” This is what the Russian Ministry of Transport said after the US seized the Russian oil tanker. Russian media reported this. The Ministry specified that contact with the ship had been lost. “No state has the right to use force against ships duly registered in the jurisdiction of other states,” it added. The tanker had received temporary permission to sail under the Russian flag on December 24.
