Milan, Jan. 7 (LaPresse) – The UK Ministry of Defense has just confirmed that it provided support to the United States for the seizure of the oil tanker Marinera, or Bella 1. “The UK provided support to the US, at their request, to intercept the Bella 1 vessel today,” the ministry said in a statement. Sky News reports. The operation at sea involved a Royal Fleet Auxiliary (RFA) Tideforce ship, while the Royal Air Force (RAF) provided surveillance support from above. This was “pre-planned operational support, including the establishment of bases, for US military assets,” London said. The ministry added that the UK's support was “fully compliant with international law.” .
