Seoul, Jan. 13 (LaPresse) – A team of special lawyers has requested the death penalty for former South Korean president Yoon Suk-yeol for his failed imposition of martial law on December 3, 2024. The team of special prosecutor Cho Eun-suk described Yoon as the head of an insurrection that sought to remain in power by taking control of the judiciary and parliament The sentence will be handed down during the final hearing of Yoon’s trial at the Seoul Central District Court.
