Milan, 13 January (LaPresse) – ‘We had the honour of accompanying the acting president, Delcy Rodríguez, to a meeting with the heads of mission of the member countries of the European Union, the United Kingdom and the Swiss Confederation accredited in Venezuela’. This is what Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yván Gil wrote on social media. ‘The aim of this meeting was to explore a programme of dialogue and productive cooperation in strategic sectors, always respecting sovereignty, diplomacy and the mutual benefit of our peoples,’ reads the post on X, ‘Venezuela reaffirms its firm commitment to establishing diplomatic and commercial relations with all nations of the world.’ According to Gil, Rodríguez conveyed ‘a very clear message’ during the meeting: ‘With respect and equality between states, we are willing to move forward with a new agenda, an intensive programme of work for the well-being of the peoples of Europe and Venezuela.’
