Milan, 17 January (LaPresse) – ‘I want to remain optimistic and confident that the court will hear the arguments that the tribunal did not hear.’ This is what Marine Le Pen, leader of the far-right French party Rassemblement National (RN), said when commenting on the appeal trial that began this week in Paris on the case of embezzlement of EU funds, for which she was convicted. ‘When you appeal, by definition, you are optimistic. If you are not optimistic, you do not appeal. It's simple,’ she added at a press conference with Franck Allisio, the Rassemblement National candidate for mayor of Marseille. This was reported by the broadcaster Bfmtv.
