Milan, 18 Jan. (LaPresse) – In Minneapolis, United States, hundreds of anti-ICE protesters stifled far-right activist Jake Lang's attempt to organise a small demonstration in support of ICE. Lang wanted to stage an anti-Islamic, anti-Somali and pro-ICE demonstration, declaring in advance on social media that he wanted to ‘burn a Koran’ on the steps of City Hall. Only a small number of people showed up at his demonstration, while hundreds of counter-protesters gathered at the site, shouting to prevent him from speaking. They also forced one person to remove a T-shirt they deemed objectionable. Lang appeared to be injured as he left the scene, with bruises and scratches on his head. Lang had previously been pardoned by President Donald Trump after being charged with assaulting an officer with a baseball bat, civil disorder and other offences related to the 6 January 2021 assault on the Capitol.
