Ankara (Turkey), Feb. 4 (LaPresse) – "Turkey absolutely does not want our region to witness a new war or a new wave of destruction. We have stated in all forums that we reject any military intervention against Iran. We emphasize to our counterparts the need to avoid any steps that could increase tensions," said Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in an interview with the Saudi newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat. "We confirm our readiness to play a mediating role between Iran and the United States to reduce tensions and resolve issues, and we continue our contacts in this direction," he added.
