Rome, 11 February. (LaPresse) – The man arrested in connection with the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of ‘Today’ programme host Savannah Guthrie, has been released. This was announced by Arizona television station KNXV, affiliated with CNN. The arrest, it was explained, was based on investigative evidence, but the person was not charged. Interviewed by KNXV after his release, the man said he “did not know” who Nancy Guthrie was and that he worked as a delivery man. “They told me I was under arrest for kidnapping. I asked them, ‘Kidnapping who?’” he said, adding that he explained he may have “delivered a package” to Mrs Guthrie's home but “I have never kidnapped anyone”.
