Tel Aviv (Israel), 15 February (LaPresse/AP) – ‘A serious escalation and a flagrant violation of international law’ amounting to ‘de facto annexation’. This is how the office of Palestinian National Authority (PNA) President Mahmoud Abbas described Israel's decision to restart the land registration process in the occupied West Bank, which means that when Israel begins the land registration process for a given area, anyone claiming ownership of land will have to present documents proving their ownership. Abbas called on the international community, particularly the United Nations Security Council and the United States, to intervene immediately.
