Milan, 8 March (LaPresse) – Khamenei's name as Iran's leader ‘will continue’. This was stated by a member of the Assembly of Experts, quoted by the British broadcaster Sky News. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed during the first US and Israeli attacks on Iran. His son, Mojtaba Khamenei, a 56-year-old cleric who has never held government office, is the leading candidate to succeed him. A few hours ago, the Iranian news agency Mehr announced that the new Supreme Leader had been appointed and that the public announcement of Ali Khamenei's successor was now expected.
