Turin, 10 March (LaPresse) – ‘Speaking about the Strait of Hormuz,’ the leaders of Italy, the United Kingdom and Germany, Giorgia Meloni, Keir Starmer and Friedrich Merz, ‘agreed on the vital importance of freedom of navigation for ships passing through these waters’ and ‘also agreed to work closely together in the coming days in the face of Iranian threats.’ This was reported in a statement by Downing Street regarding last night's talks between the leaders on the situation in the Middle East. Prime Minister Starmer ‘updated his colleagues on the defensive measures taken by the United Kingdom in the region in recent days in support of our partners in the Gulf,’ the statement said.
