Milan, 13 March (LaPresse/AP) – Lebanese President Joseph Aoun says that Israel has not responded to his offer to negotiate. Aoun stated that his proposal calls for Israel to cease its attacks on Hezbollah and for international logistical support to help the Lebanese army take control of Hezbollah’s weapons and depots in the south of the country. Speaking during a meeting with UN Secretary-General António Guterres, Aoun called on Israel and Lebanon to begin negotiations. Israel has stated that the Lebanese government is not serious about disarming Hezbollah, so it is up to the Israeli army to do so.
