Milan, Mar. 19 (LaPresse) – "The world, the Middle East, our ungrateful allies in Europe, and even part of our press should say just one thing to President Trump: 'thank you'." This was stated by U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth during a Pentagon press briefing on the war in Iran. "A dishonest, anti-Trump press will stop at nothing to downplay the progress" of the war in Iran. "Nothing could be further from the truth; we are winning decisively and on our terms," Hegseth assured. "So far, we have struck over 7,000 targets. This is overwhelming force applied with precision. Iran’s defense industrial base is being massively destroyed," he emphasized, noting that a new wave of strikes would represent "the largest wave of attacks so far." Hegseth opened the press conference by stating that he had spoken with the families of the six U.S. servicemen who died last week in a military tanker plane crash in Iraq. "They said: 'Get this done. Honor their sacrifice. Don’t waver. Don’t stop until the job is finished.' My response, as well as the president’s, was simple: 'Of course we will get it done. We will honor their sacrifice,'" Hegseth said.
