Rome, 23 March (LaPresse) – Operations at New York’s LaGuardia Airport have been suspended following a collision between an Air Canada Express CRJ-900 aircraft during landing and a ground vehicle on runway 4, according to the Jerusalem Post. The Air Canada Express aircraft, operating from Montreal, reportedly struck a fire engine during landing, according to initial reports and flight tracking data from Flightradar24. Audio recordings circulating alongside initial visual accounts suggest that air traffic control repeatedly ordered both the aircraft crew and the ground vehicle to stop moments before the impact. According to unconfirmed reports, citing the New York Fire Department, five firefighters wearing red badges and over 100 passengers are said to have been injured in the incident. A massive deployment of airport rescue and firefighting (ARFF) teams is also continuing at LaGuardia Airport.
