Rome, 25 March (LaPresse/AP) – Iran has received a 15-point proposal from the United States aimed at securing a ceasefire in the war. This was stated by two Pakistani officials speaking anonymously to the Associated Press, who described the proposal in general terms as covering the easing of sanctions, civil nuclear cooperation, a reduction in Iran’s nuclear programme, monitoring by the International Atomic Energy Agency, missile restrictions and access for shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. Iran has insisted that it is not engaged in negotiations with the United States, and a military spokesman has derided American diplomatic efforts.
