Milan, 30 March (LaPresse/AP) – “This is not our war and we will not allow ourselves to be dragged into it.” With these words, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer reiterated the UK’s stance on the conflict in the Middle East, rejecting the pressure and criticism coming from the United States under President Donald Trump. Speaking at an event in the West Midlands to launch the Labour Party’s campaign ahead of the local elections on 7 May, the British Prime Minister emphasised: “My position and that of this government remains unchanged, regardless of the pressure being brought to bear on us.” The comments come at a delicate time for the British Prime Minister, who is facing a complex political phase and the risk of an electoral setback with possible repercussions for his leadership.
