Rome, Apr. 1 (LaPresse) – "We will not leave the Donbass, I say this categorically." This was stated to LaPresse by Alona Mordik, a Ukrainian soldier who was held prisoner by the Russians for 120 days after fighting in the battle of the Azovstal steel plant in Mariupol. On that occasion, the woman lost her husband, who was also a soldier. "In Donbass my husband died, my relatives died, there are friends, brothers, we cannot give up territories where so many people died defending them. Putin would not stop at Donbass because he wants all of Ukraine," Mordik added. "We are worried, we want more attention. This large-scale aggression has been going on for four years. Even now there are very powerful attacks on my country," the soldier continued. Mordik is in Italy together with a delegation of other wives and mothers of fallen soldiers: "We thank Italy for the constant help and ask that military support not cease. The front is holding, the Russians are unable to advance and we need it."
