Beirut (Lebanon), Apr. 4 (LaPresse) – The death toll from Israeli attacks since the start of the war in Iran has risen to 1,422 dead and 4,294 injured in Lebanon. This was reported by the Lebanese Ministry of Health, explaining that the update is due to the toll from the last 24 hours, which stands at 54 dead and 156 injured. According to the ministry, the overall death toll includes 126 children and 93 women. Israel launched intense airstrikes across Lebanon after, on March 2, the Lebanese group Hezbollah began firing rockets toward northern Israel in solidarity with Tehran, following the attacks by the U.S. and Israel on Iran on February 28 that triggered the ongoing war. According to Lebanese health authorities, among the dead there are also 54 healthcare workers, and Israeli attacks have also targeted 87 emergency medical service facilities. On Saturday, a wave of Israeli strikes hit several areas in southern Lebanon; one of these killed 2 children and injured another 22 people, according to the Ministry of Health.
