Dubai (United Arab Emirates), 5 April (LaPresse/AP) – The United Arab Emirates has reported a fire at a petrochemical plant in the country, which broke out following an attack on Sunday. The Abu Dhabi authorities intervened to extinguish the fires at the Borouge petrochemical plant, which are believed to have been caused by falling debris following the interception of drones by air defence systems, but production at the plant has been halted. The plant is located in Ruwais, near the UAE’s western border with Saudi Arabia, and is a joint venture between Abu Dhabi National Oil and the Australian company Borealis.
