Madrid (Spain), 9 Apr. (LaPresse) – "The situation in Lebanon is a disgrace to the conscience of humanity: 1,750 dead, thousands injured, over 1.2 million displaced in a war imposed and in which the Lebanese people are merely victims." Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares made this statement in the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Congress of Deputies, reiterating his call for Lebanon to be included in the ceasefire. The minister condemned both Hezbollah's attacks, which "fuel the war," and Israel's ground operation, which "occupied territories under Lebanese sovereignty." "Yesterday we saw how Israel, despising the ceasefire, dropped hundreds of bombs on Lebanon," Albares said, saying he had expressed Spain's support for Lebanon's government, sovereignty, and territorial integrity to his Lebanese counterpart.
