New York (USA), Apr 13 (LaPresse) – The Trump administration has decided to keep the rainbow Pride flag at the Stonewall National Monument in New York, reversing its removal that took place in February. The decision was announced as part of a possible agreement to close a lawsuit filed by LGBTQ+ groups and heritage protection organizations, which had challenged the removal. The settlement, still subject to a judge’s approval, provides that the flag will remain displayed except for maintenance needs and that it will be accompanied by two other flags on the monument’s flagpole. The case is part of the broader political debate over the Stonewall site and the management of LGBTQ+ memorial locations.
