Turin, 15 May (LaPresse) – Three people have died and twelve have been injured following a Ukrainian drone attack that took place overnight in Russia’s Ryazan region. This was reported by the regional governor, Pavel Malkov, as quoted by Interfax. “Unfortunately, three people have died and twelve have been injured, including children. All the victims received the necessary assistance promptly,” he said. According to the governor, two multi-storey residential buildings were damaged in Ryazan. Debris from a drone also fell onto the grounds of an industrial plant, and clearance operations are underway. Temporary shelters have been set up in the city and the damaged structures are being dismantled. Earlier in the morning, Malkov had reported a drone attack in the region, which was subsequently repelled. Damage was reported to several residential buildings, as well as to the premises of a commercial business. According to Ukrainian media reports, the drones attacked the Ryazan oil refinery, one of the largest oil processing plants in Russia. The first explosions were reported around 2 am. Subsequently, residents of Ryazan began reporting an attack on the refinery, loud explosions and, finally, a massive fire that reportedly broke out in the plant area.
