Milan, 18 May (LaPresse) – “A few minutes ago, IOF (Israeli Occupation Forces – ed.) vessels began intercepting the boats of the Global Sumud Flotilla.” This was announced by the initiative’s spokesperson in Italy, Maria Elena Delia, who emphasised that the operation is taking place “illegally” and “in international waters”. The Turkish news agency Anadolu reports that ‘Israeli forces have begun attacking the vessels of the Global Sumud Flotilla in international waters’. According to tracking data, the Global Sumud Flotilla, which consists of around fifty vessels heading for the Gaza Strip, is currently located west of Cyprus, having set sail from Turkey on Thursday.
