Milan, 18 May (LaPresse) – The Revolutionary Guards have intercepted a large consignment of US weapons in the town of Baneh, located in the province of Kurdistan in western Iran. This was reported by the Iranian news agency Fars, which stated that the consignment had been shipped from Iraqi Kurdistan. Fars quotes the Pasdaran’s Hamza Seyyed al-Shohada base, which states that “following intelligence operations, certain counter-revolutionary terrorist groups based in northern Iraq, acting on behalf of the United States and the Zionist regime” – referring to Israel – ‘were targeted whilst attempting to transfer a large consignment of new US weapons and ammunition into Iran’.
