Kampala (Uganda), 23 May (LaPresse/AP) – The number of confirmed Ebola cases in Uganda has risen to 5, all linked to the outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. This was reported by local authorities. One of the five is a 59-year-old Congolese man who was admitted to a hospital in Kampala, the Ugandan capital, on 11 May and died three days later. Ugandan health authorities also reported today that a driver and a healthcare worker who had been exposed to that Congolese patient, both Ugandans, have tested positive. The other cases are two Congolese women who sought medical care in Uganda before the Democratic Republic of the Congo declared the outbreak on 15 May.
