Rome, 15 June (LaPresse) – Moscow has denied striking the Pechersk Lavra monastery in Kyiv during a night-time bombardment of the Ukrainian capital. A statement released by the Ministry of Defence states that “according to confirmed data, the Pechersk Lavra monastery complex in Kyiv was struck by a missile from the US Patriot air defence system. One of the causes of the system’s malfunction,” the statement continues, “may have been the supply of obsolete missiles to the Kyiv regime by Western countries.” This was reported by TASS.
